    My sister-in-law sent me info on your radio/website, etc. She was my deceased wife’s sister.
    My wife died on Dec 15, 2006 while waiting for a liver transplant at Tulane Hospital in New Orleans. We had two children, a son and daughter,now grown (28 and 27, respectively), successful and happily married.
    I went through a ‘Grief Recovery” program with a Navy Chaplain in Gulfport, MS beginning about 2 months after my wife died. It was very helpful but after several other losses over the years and having two bouts of cancer (Transitional Cell Carcinoma and Prostate – one kidney and prostate surgically removed) I still struggle with many of the empty feelings that were very prevalent after my wife died.
    In 2011, I joined a 10 week session with a grief group. Since being a participant for that first 10 weeks, I have helped as a facilitator for three of these grief recovery groups per year. We use the “Grief Recovery Handbook” process and I think it is a very good resource. This has helped me work with my grief and I believe my experiences in my grieving translates to helping others move thru the process and look forward to something in their future.
    I have just today began listening to your radio sessions on the website; Ed Gray’s) one today about “Men in Grief”. My process of moving forward has been reading, traveling to see friends and most of all practicing Yoga. I am now a registered Yoga Teacher (200RYT) by the “Yoga Alliance”, having completed a one year/one weekend per month training program in 2013. I am currently teach a weekly Men’s Basic Yoga Class in Bay St. Louis MS.
    I retired from my full-time career as an Oceanographer in 2007 but have remained working part-time in that field as a consultant.

    Thank you for the work you do;

    Respectfully,
    Don Walter/Oceanographer/200RYT
