Gary Roe has been dealing with grief since early childhood. A survivor of sexual abuse, he experienced numerous losses during his childhood and teen years. His interest in helping hurting people eventually led him into ministry. He has been a campus minister, a missionary in Japan, a pastor, and currently serves as an author, speaker, and chaplain with Hospice Brazos Valley in central Texas. He is the author of Surviving the Holidays Without You, and the co-author (with New York Times Bestseller Cecil Murphey) of Saying Goodbye: Facing the Loss of a Loved One and Not Quite Healed: 40 Truths for Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse. He also writes inspirational columns based on the stories of hospice patients and families for several newspapers. Gary provides grief support online through his website (www.garyroe.com) and his Good Grief email course. He is deeply involved in his community as a grief specialist, offering seminars and support groups. In addition, he does radio and television interviews and speaks on a wide variety of topics to civic, health and religious organizations. Gary loves people and is committed to helping others heal and grow. Gary has three adopted daughters from Colombia and loves being a dad. He enjoys hockey, healthy eating, exercising, and good conversation with friends. He likes to laugh, and claims he tells the worst jokes in a four-state area. He wears a Hawaiian shirt and cowboy boots almost every day (he lived on Maui for several years and never got over it). Visit Gary on his website at www.garyroe.com . He reads and responds to every email. He would love to hear from you.
