Tommy Mann
I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, but left for Texas to go to college. In 2007 I received my B.S. in Bible from Arlington Baptist College. While in college and I met and married Alicia. As my sophomore year was beginning I also got to undertake a new adventure when I was hired to my first paid staff position at a church. Lakeside Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas, hired me as a part time youth pastor. In 2008 I was hired by another church, this time on a full time basis. Philippi Baptist Church in Union, South Carolina hired me to be their pastor of students. Two major events changed my life in 2009. My first book, All the Law, was published, and with that came my ministry, Tommy Mann Ministries. But more importantly, our daughter Reagan was born that year. My wife and I had suffered three previous miscarriages, and when my wife was twelve weeks along with Reagan, she was diagnosed with a kidney disease. After a difficult pregnancy that culminated in an emergency C-section and a week in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, we finally got to welcome our daughter into her new home. Those experiences led me to another book. This book answers the most common questions people have after losing a child; they are many of the questions that I struggled with when we lost ours, and they were questions I could not find in a book. Today Tommy Mann Ministries uses the proceeds from book sales to support crisis pregnancy centers and assist prison chaplain. While those two don’t necessarily go together, they both have real needs and both are personal to my family.
