I have reason to believe that our prayers help our loved ones who have passed.  Children have come through mediums to me and clearly expressed that our prayers are felt and appreciated.  In fact, I have received this message from my son Daniel on three occasions, twice in a session with the medium Glenn Dove and once in session with the medium Roland Comtois!

The first time I heard this message was in a reading with Dove on July 8, 2008, one week after Danny had passed.   Dove said this:   “I don’t know if somebody contacted a group that pray for him, but something’s been done for him and he said he’s felt these waves of like, a prayer: a wave of prayer.  He says he’s been getting these waves.”

This excited me because I had contacted a huge group of people over the internet on the day after Danny passed and had requested that they all say a prayer for him.  Then Dan came through a few months later at another session with Dove in which he said that the prayers help him to move forward.  He described this as “catching rides”.

It felt so good to realize that there was something I could still do to help my boy!   In July of 2009, I formed The Prayer Registry for the purpose of sending prayers to children on the other side on the anniversary day of their crossing.  Knowing that Danny was benefitting from prayers, I knew I had to bring this service to a larger group of people so that many other children could catch rides!

On March 4, 2010 I had a session with the medium Roland Comtois.  When I asked if there was any information about The Prayer Registry, Roland had this to say:  “It’s huge…it’s huge, this is huge! Actually, when you’re praying, he receives them. And he does something with it. Oh God, I’m telling you.  I love your boy. I love his energy and he does something with that, so he’s kind of at work passing a prayer to where it needs to go.  This is why he’s on this adventure, to find as many connections so that there can be as much healing. He has a big purpose and he was not able to contain that purpose in this physical body.  This experience, it was unsettling to him, until he got there. Until he got there and he realized that he’s doing more and more and more than he could ever accomplish here.  This is important.  This is important and he is incredibly instrumental spiritually to bring energy.  When you realize, he’s still in his infancy when it comes to all these spiritual things.  As advanced spiritually as he was, he is still discovering all these experiences but I feel like his light and his energy is incredibly strong, so he’s assisting with that.  I have a strong feeling, I don’t know if I’m feeling it, or he’s telling me, but I’m supposed to align with you with this.  I need to either connect my website to yours, to help support your mission in that. I’m going to help.   I’m going to help you with this.  I don’t know how, but he’s telling me that I have to, so I’m going to listen.  There’s incredible energy.  Maybe part of the whole purpose of us gathering here today is that he wanted us to have a conversation about this.  There’s a lot of incredible energy that comes from him to you and so this is very significant.”

It’s great to get such strong, supportive feedback about the value of prayer and of course. I am delighted to think that Danny has taken on an active role in this work.

But Danny is not the only child in The Prayer Registry to come through a medium and comment on benefitting from the prayers. One of the first young men to be registered and prayed for by the Prayer Team was Joshua Dapp who passed on October 4, 2008.  On October 4, 2009 the Prayer Team sent prayers out to Josh.   A few days later his mother Ruth had a phone session with Dove.   This is what she reported after the session:   “I want to take time to thank everyone for sending prayers up to my son Josh especially on Oct. 4, the 1 yr. anniversary of his passing. Last evening I had my second reading with Glenn Dove, it left me breathless. I found that every prayer and thought of love sent to Josh was felt by him. Josh said during the reading that he was uplifted by all the prayers and love that was sent to him.”

Naturally, this was great news for the Prayer Team and very encouraging. However, these messages I have received from my son and Joshua Dapp through Dove and Comtois are not the only sources of these types of messages.  I have read several books that document the value of prayer and how it can help our loved ones on the other side.  For further information on the subject I suggest reading “Raymond, Or Life and Death” by Sir Oliver Lodge or “We Are Their Heaven” by Allison Du Bois.

In conclusion, I would like to say this:  If you have lost a child, register that child for prayer! There is no charge for this service, only the commitment to return the favor by praying for the other children in the registry.  The prayers are sent to the particular child on the anniversary day of his or her passing.  It’s a wonderful thing and it benefits our children.    To register your child, (of any age) send the full name of your child and the date that he or she passed to theprayerregistry@gmail.com.

Sheri Perl

Sheri Perl is a spiritual healer and counselor, author, teacher, and interfaith minister. She became involved in spiritualism in a desperate attempt to save her life. At age sixteen, Sheri was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. After years of medical treatment, she was fighting for her life on the operating table. While recovering from surgery, a second illness contracted through blood transfusions was declared fatal. At this time Sheri contacted British spiritual healer, Harry Edwards, “purely out of desperation.” To her amazement, the healing stopped her illness in its tracks, and returned her liver functions to normal. As a result of this experience, Sheri opened the doors to spiritual exploration. She has studied with many great mediums and healers, eventually earning her doctorate in Therapeutic Counseling from the Open International University, Institute for Alternative Medicine. Her book, “Healing From the Inside Out” chronicles her experience with illness and spiritual healing and shares what she has learned along the way. In 2008, her 22-year-old son Daniel died of an overdose of alcohol and prescription drugs. Needless-to-say, Sheri suffers greatly from this loss; however, what helps her is the knowledge that Daniel is safe in the spirit world and “connecting up” with him through thought, feelings, dreams, signs and reputable mediums. Sheri is currently working on a new book to share her perspective with others who are mourning. She recently created the PRAYER REGISTRY for parents who wish to join with others to send group prayers out to their child on the anniversary day of their passing.
