Jeff Zhorne

Jeff Zhorne, MA, Grief Counselor and bereavement specialist, is founder and director of the Loss & Recovery Center and The Grief Program, an organization dedicated to guiding grieving people in resolving loss issues step-by-step to a richer quality of life. His professional experience in Greater Los Angeles includes training lay counselors at the AIDS Service Center, Caring for Babies with AIDS and Haven House for Battered Women. He has appeared as a guest in every major U.S. radio market including WLUP Chicago, WMC Memphis, WBGZ St. Louis, KRXO Oklahoma City and the No. 1 online radio program VoiceAmerica Network. As an educator in Grief Recovery and having experienced so many losses firsthand, including the tragic deaths of his two young children, Jeremy and Amelia, Jeff has gained the insight and sensitivity to effectively reach people suffering loss. He has presented workshops at The Compassionate Friends national conferences in 1997 and 2004, Parents of Murdered Children support groups, college classes and church congregations. Jeff was the designated counselor for Los Angeles radio program KTWV’s Adopt-a-Family program and the primary referral for Rose Hills Memorial Park, the world’s largest cemetery. His grief workshops have been underwritten by Santa Clarita City Hall and Lexus of Valencia. Currently he is in private practice in Valencia. The Grief Program receives referrals from Henry Mayo Hospital Behavioral Health Unit, The Michael Hoefflin Foundation, Hart High School, Valencia High School and various hospices and churches.
