My education is a degree in Finance, with an English Minor, from the University of New Orleans. An MBA followed, from Yale, with electives in the Law School, New Haven, Connecticut. My wife, Mary, and I have been married for 35 years, and have lived in Cobb County, Georgia since 1990. Over seven years ago I began selling Medicare insurance. People liked my simple, clear explanations of financial topics. So they began asking for my advice on their IRAs, 401(k) plans and other investments. Many of my new clients had already suffered big losses to their life’s savings in 2001, and again in 2008, despite their years of careful planning. They wisely feared that happening again. They now wanted their retirement funds in accounts that were guaranteed against loss, but that would still pay them decent returns. Moreover, they now wanted to work with someone who would spend time actually listening to them, learning about them, and who would not talk ‘over their heads’ in fancy technical language. As the years went on, my practice came to include an unusually high percentage of widows and widowers. Each one’s story was very touching. It made me appreciate the special problems they face in life, and I came to treasure each one as a client. That made me want to serve financial clients who might be dealing with other types of loss, too, like being newly separated or divorced. Training in those skills came from Amy Florian’s intensive program, Corgenius, Inc. The Corgenius motto is "Putting heart into the brains of business." For support in the brain-power side of business, I rely on Fortress Brokerage Solutions of Atlanta. They routinely write life insurance cases in multi-million dollar, premium-financed amounts. Yet they still do a great job with U/Ls and even burial policies. I work in Fulton, Cobb, Cherokee and Bartow Counties, Georgia.
