Cary Gregory

Cary Gregory was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He received a BS degree in Mass Communications at Southeast MO State University, Cape Girardeau, MO. His published works include “Kibbles and Bitts” and “Tania and Her Pet Whale”, a children’s book dedicated to the memory of his daughter, Kellie, under his pen name Jon Ocee. Cary began writing at age eight while helping on a Christmas play for his local church. He continued to write songs, poetry, and short stories throughout his high school years; when inspired poems were sometimes used to complete homework assignments. “I actually had no intention of ever selling anything...maybe a song someday.” An early career as a radio DJ and concentrated studies in Mass Communications and Journalism in college enhanced writing skills. “Inspiration can come from a simple thought or a phrase said a certain way by a friend to awaken the muse. And for over 27 years, Kellie, inspired me the most. She was always my favorite critic.” He continues to write on his novel trilogies “Testing Love: The 6-Hour X-periments,” and “One Shot,” and various screenplays, poems, and songs. Using his nom de plume Greg Newman, his songs include “Never Gettin’ Over Me,” and “Guillotine.” With Jon Ocee, he continues writing in the pre-teen bracket with “Marty McAnt,” and the “Tania” series with “Tania’s Christmas Wishes,” and “Tania’s Next Big Adventure.” In his down time, Cary enjoys skiing, playing guitar, writing songs, hiking, and reading.
