How can we help you? Frequently asked questions about the Open to Hope Foundation website and community are below. If you don’t find what you’re looking for here feel free to contact us by email.

No option for adding a photo to our Profile Photo

At the top right where it says “Howdy, Nancy Gershman” there is a Profile Photo box to the right of it which is empty; it only has the silhouette.

When I go to my profile page, there is no option anywhere on the page to upload my photo with my profile picture. I’ve added my photo to media but can’t figure out how to bring it into my profile.

How is Open to Hope funded?

The Open to Hope Foundation is a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization, and 100% of our expenses are funded by donations. 100% of our donations are used to help achieve our mission: To help people find hope after loss.

How do I share my story?

One of the most important functions of opentohope.com is as a blog where members of our community can share stories, hope and strength, either as “Your Story” or by commenting on the website’s stories, articles, video segments, and radio shows.

I am a therapist/grief professional and would like to contribute an article. What are my next steps?

The Open to Hope Foundation is fortunate to have a diverse range of experts, researchers and authors in the field of grief and loss contributing to our community. An Open to Hope Editor will contact you after reviewing your application; please allow 7-10 business days.

I found a bug/glitch in the website, or I have an idea for website improvement. How do I report it?

I would like to report objectionable content I found on the Open to Hope website.

Although most contributors participate in Opentohope.com to sincerely help others who are seeking hope after loss, very rarely information is posted by someone with different intentions. We do everything in our power to monitor the site and make sure the information posted is valid and respectful, and appreciate hearing from helpful readers when content is found that is objectionable. In such cases, please click here to let us know. In your report, please include a link to the objectionable content, when possible. Our website team will then take action.

Books are featured on the Open to Hope website only when written by Open to Hope Radio guests or our Open to Hope authors.

I would like to appear on the Open to Hope radio program. What are my next steps?

If you are a published author or expert in the field of grief and loss and would like to be considered as a guest on the Open to Hope radio show, please send a copy of your book or article and brief proposal of your topic to us for consideration. Submitted materials will not be returned unless accompanied by a postage paid, self-addressed envelope.

I would like to attend workshops/get grief counseling. Where can I find out about them?

Open to Hope does not directly sponsor workshops or individual grief counseling. However, you may find the information you seek on the sites of other organizations, services and websites that support those dealing with loss. We invite you to visit their websites and to explore what they have to offer.

I would like to include my organization's site in your “More Resources” section. How do I do this?

Please contact our Executive Director for consideration. Preference is given to non-profit organizations focusing on grief and loss.
