Maya Fleischer
Maya Fleischer is a trauma-informed coach and certified Compassion Key practitioner who guides people through nervous system healing, somatic release, and the gentle unlearning of survival patterns. She is the founder of Unfold Consciously, a project devoted to helping sensitive souls and those who have learned to silence themselves find safety, self-trust, and relief from the burdens of people-pleasing and hypervigilance. Maya’s work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. Early in life, she learned to survive by setting aside her own needs, voice, and joy. The long journey of reclaiming those hidden parts of herself gave her deep empathy for others whose grief is not only about external loss, but also about the loss of connection to self. She believes that grief often includes mourning the unlived life — the laughter, rest, or spontaneity that was abandoned to stay safe — and that naming this grief is the first step toward healing. Her writing explores how grief and trauma intertwine in the body, and how somatic practices can create openings for repair. Maya has contributed essays to Tiny Buddha, Elephant Journal, The Tattooed Buddha, and RToR (Resources to Recover), where her reflections on people-pleasing, nervous system regulation, and reclaiming presence have resonated with a wide audience. Through both writing and one-on-one support, Maya invites others to soften into awareness, listen for the body’s signals, and gently welcome home the parts of themselves they thought were gone. Her approach emphasizes compassion, body-based grounding, and the quiet power of allowing grief to be felt as a doorway to renewal. When she is not writing or working with clients, Maya lives a simple life traveling in her camper van with her two cats, Smudge and Bailey. She cherishes slow mornings, creative flow, and the steady practice of re-learning what it means to rest without guilt.
