Rod Colvin

Rod Colvin describes his passion for the topic of prescription drug addiction as coming from the death of his brother Randy, who died at age thirty-five, as a result of his long-term addiction to prescription drugs. Overcoming Prescription Drug Addiction is the third edition of this book, previously published as Prescription Drug Addiction-The Hidden Epidemic (2001). In 2005, Colvin served on an advisory panel for the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA), which conducted the nation’s first landmark study on prescription drug abuse in America. The study, Under the Counter: The Diversion and Abuse of Prescription Drugs in the United States, was published in July 2005. Downloadable copies are available at www.casacolumbia.org Rod was a guest on the radio show “Healing the Grieving Heart” talking about “Prescription Drug Addiction –The Hidden Epidemic.” To hear Rod being interviewed on this show by Dr. Gloria & Dr. Heidi Horsley, click on the following link: www.voiceamericapd.com/health/010157/horsley101906.mp3
