Gordon Smith; Remembering Garrett

Gordon Smith is a two time Senator from Oregon and currently president of the National Broadcasting Association.   On September 8, 2003, Garrett, then a 21 year old college student committed suicide. Smith wrote a book entitled Remembering Garrett, One Family’s Battle with a Child’s Depression.[5] In 2004, President George W. Leeat Granek PhD; Fully Mourning Losses

Leeat Granek has a PhD in Psychology from York University in Toronto, Canada, her area of specialization is in death and mourning. Janelle Shantz Hertzler’s: Healing Through Journaling and Poetry

Janelle Shantz Hertzler’s husband was killed by a drunk driver. On a quest for healing she studied trauma, wrote poetry, journaled, and began photography. She is the author of  Seasons of Solace: A Story of Healing through Photos and Poems. Ed Gray; Healing Through Journaling and Poetry

Ed’s grieving journey began when his wife, mother, and father died. Ed’s journaling evolved into writing poetry about his grieving process. This poetry is a crucial part of his transition back into life.
