Sheri Perl; Healing From the Inside Out

Sheri Perl is a spiritual healer, interfaith minister, author and lecturer.  In 2008 Sheri lost her 22-year-old son Daniel to a drug overdose. Lauren Muscarella; Remembering My Mother

Wendy Packman, JD, PhD Topic: Pet Loss

Dr. Wendy Packman is a Professor of Psychology at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, California.  She has written extensively on sibling bereavement and continuing bonds, the impact of a child’s death on parents, and the psychological impact of pet loss. Gordon Bolar Topic: Dealing with the Public and Private Nature of Loss

Gordon Bolar’s 24-year-old son Army Spc. Matthew died in 2007 while serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Matthew died in Baghdad of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device.  He had volunteered for a second tour of duty. Jerry Yellin; The Hidden Wounds of War

Jerry Yellin enlisted in the Army Air Corps on his 18th birthday.  He was in combat in the Pacific Theater and Iwo Jima with the 78th Fighter Squadron and participated in the first land based fighter mission over Japan on April 7, 1945 and the last mission of the war on August 14, 1945. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with an Oak Leaf cluster and the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf clusters. David Morrell; When Lightning Strikes Twice

David B. Morrell is a New York Times best-selling author of twenty-eight books, including his award-winning First Blood, which introduced the world to John Rambo.  Dr. Morrell has more than eighteen million copies of his books in print.  In 1986 his fifteen-year-old son, Matthew, died of bone cancer inspiring him to write, “Fireflies:  A Father’s Classic Tale of Love and Loss. Kelly Farley; Grieving Dad

Diana C. Sands, PhD; Helping Families Deal With Suicide
