Frankie Orella: Missing Mom Lord Hear My Cry

Posted on April 30, 2020 - by admin

Frankie Orella is a Nashville-native singer-songwriter who grew up in a home surrounded by the melodies of The Beatles and words of hymn writers. When she was 17, she lost her mom to cancer and songwriting was a way to process the trauma and brokenness that loss brings into a home. She started her music career writing and leading music in churches, but her upcoming project “Stages of Grief” moves in a different direction in order to give a metaphorical voice to each of the 5 stages of grief.    https://media.blubrry.com/open_to_hope_1/www.opentohope.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Frankie-Orella-Missing-Mom-Lord-Hear-My-Cry.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download

William and Beverly Feigelman: Support For High Risk Individuals During Covid-19

Posted on April 24, 2020 - by admin

In this episode, the authors of Devastating Losses, William and Beverly Feigelman, join Drs. Gloria and Heidi Horsley. The couple lost their 32-year-old son to suicide related to substance abuse. He was living in New York with his fiancé when he hanged himself. Although Jesse had a long history of substance abuse—and Beverly, who was a specialized therapist treating substance abuse patient—they never saw the death coming. Suicide and drug/alcohol losses are often stigmatized and disenfranchised. For the Feigelmans, they experienced disenfranchised loss doubly, since Jesse’s death was caused by both substance abuse and suicide. https://media.blubrry.com/open_to_hope_1/www.opentohope.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/William-and-Beverly-Feigelman-Support-For-High-Risk-Individuals-During-Covid-19.mp3Podcast: Play in new window […]
