Bob Burt has a Hall of Fame Football coaching career, has served on the Board of Directors for The Compassionate Friends, and speaks on Student Suicide Prevention. Debbie Rambis is the Executive Director for The Compassionate Friends, the world’s largest peer to peer support group, bringing hope to millions of bereaved parents, siblings, and grandparents. joined The Compassionate Friends in 2011.

Episode 125: Creating Healing Communities After Loss

Debbie Rambis joined The Compassionate Friends in 2011 after the drowning death of her 29 year old son Tony.  She has served in numerous capacities for The Compassionate Friends, and is currently their Executive Director.  Jeannette Maré founded the Ben’s Bells Project after the sudden death of her two-year-old son Ben. Ben’s Bells focuses on kindness, and has become nationally recognized, with over 30,000 volunteers.

On this show Dr. Heidi Horsley and Dr. Gloria Horsley talk with Pamela Hagens and Dr. Janis Johnston, about Recovery and Rediscovery after Loss.  Pamela Hagens lost her 19 year old son Samuel in 2013. She is a lifetime proponent of health through exercise.  Dr. Janis Johnston is a counseling psychologist, who lost her husband in midlife, inspiring her to write her book, Midlife Maze:  Recovery and Rediscovery After Loss, in which she shares her wisdom and experience.

Alan is the past Executive Director of The Compassionate Friends and is currently on the road with The Angels Across the USA Tour where he will speak and perform in over 100 U.S. cities in 2018. Joining them on the show are long time friends Allie Sims Franklin and Mitch Carmody. The group visits the Tour Van as well as hears Alan Sing his original hit song I’ll Never Walk Alone.
