About Gemini Adams
Award-winning grief expert and author, Gemini Adams, helps individuals, organizations and families to overcome and prepare for the challenges of loss.
After losing her mom—a renowned BBC journalist and pioneer against bullying in the workplace—to cancer at a young age, Gemini gained first-hand experience of the pain that is bereavement. Wishing to reconnect with her mother’s love, especially during birthdays and celebrations—previously joyous occasions that had become lonely landmarks—she yearned for something to help her maintain the fading connection; perhaps a letter, a video or memento, anything that captured the affection of which her Mom had once been the source.
Convinced she was not alone, she started an online survey asking: “If one of your parents died, what would you prefer: to inherit their wealth, or to receive a letter saying how much they loved you? Over 90% expressed a wish for the loving letter.
And so the concept of Emotional Assets was born. In Gemini’s book, Your Legacy of Love: Realize the Gift in Goodbye (Live Consciously, 2009), you will discover how to leave continuing bonds for your loved ones by sharing your real wealth in a Legacy of Love.
Gemini trained with CRUSE, the UK’s leading bereavement care organization, is a member of the National Federation of Spiritual Healers and was awarded the prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship for her work. She is also the founder of www.RealizetheGift.com where you will find hundreds of resources to help you plan for the end of life, create Your Legacy of Love and find more information on her work.
Working together with The Sacred Dying Foundation, Gemini produced the documentary, A Legacy of Love, which follows a terminally-ill cancer patient as he prepares a loving legacy for his family. Premiering at the Elevate Film Festival in October 2007, the film won ‘Audience Award for Best Short Documentary’.
Gemini is a contributing expert panelist to www.Memory-Of.com, www.Yahoo.com and www.OpentoHope.com. She hosts workshops in her birthplace, the United Kingdom, and America, where she now lives. Her first book, The Top 100 Recipes for Happy Kids: Keep Your Child Alert, Active and Focused, which she co-wrote with leading nutritionist Charlotte Watts, was published by Duncan Baird 2007.
Gemini was a guest on the radio show “Healing the Grieving Heart,” where she discussed Remembering our Parents with hosts Dr. Gloria and Dr. Heidi Horsley. To listen to this show, just click on the following link: www.voiceamericapd.com/health/010157/horsley070909.mp3
